How to build a health-tech start-up (feat. Shreya Jagarlamudi)

Published:

Strata Stories are conversations between Strata’s CEO, Paul Singh, and leaders in the OT & PT world. We interview practice owners, therapists, consultants, and coaches disrupting healthcare to make a positive change!

On this episode of Strata Stories, we talk with Shreya Jagarlamudi, Co-Founder & CEO at Pledge Health – a company that helps practices grow their revenue by automating patient billing and payment collection. We dive into:

1. Investing in Healthcare start-ups
2. Shreya’s biggest learnings from building a health tech start-up
3. The challenges of bridging the gap between healthcare and technology

Episode Highlight:

Paul: “In the consumer world or even the B2B SaaS world, you really only have to support the most recent four versions of every browser. But with healthcare providers you’ve got to support the last 20 versions of stuff. I mean, I’m looking at like Google Analytics. And there’s somebody with Internet Explorer 10 right now inputting in patient information. That’s crazy.”

Shreya: “You know what’s funny? That same person is probably using Uber to order food, order rides and everything. But there is a setting where they’re going and putting themselves through this. Just because again, it’so hard to move things in a vertical like healthcare.”
