Here’s the background story on why I got into the Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) & our plan going forward! ⬇️
I view RCM as the dark underbelly of healthcare. Imagine you work a full day and, if you follow a convoluted set of rules and processes (that change often), you might get paid 60% of what you’re owed. If you’re lucky, you’ll get paid 80% of what you’re owed.
This is what’s called a reimbursement rate and most practices in our industry accept a 60-80% rate.
As someone from the non-healthcare world, this is insane. 🤯
In no other industry would it be acceptable to get paid 60%-80% of what you’re owed.
It’s unacceptable. And, whether you choose to work with us or not, you should accept nothing less than what you’re owed.
Strata solves this problem with technology and an incredible team – we help physical, occupational and speech therapy practices get paid 99.99% of what they’re owed. The highest reimbursement rate in the industry by far.
As a result, our clinic owners get paid more, they can finally take a vacation, give their employees raises, and their stress levels decrease immensely.
So who’s behind Strata Now?
Kim Peacock founded this company 13+ years ago. She and I went to high school together “back in the 1900’s” as my daughter likes to say. We’ve talked about working together for a long time and I’m thrilled the time has come.
We’re partners in this business – Kim is the COO, Adam Peacock is our CRO, Bret Self is our CTO and I’ll be leading the charge as CEO.
More importantly, Strata is a team of 30+ smart and mission driven people across the country. We’re focused on being the sharks (think: Bruce from Nemo, not Jaws) of our industry, helping PT, OT and SLP clinics chase down every dollar they’re owed.
Our long term goal is to expand into other medical disciplines and truly become the Stripe for Healthcare.
The strategy to grow this company is simple: Show, Don’t Tell.
The Healthcare industry is rarely transparent and, as a result, practices are in the dark about what they should be paid.
At the end of the day, we want all clinics to get paid every dollar they’re worth – whether it’s using Strata’s technology or not.
