Medicare Sequestration Suspended

Update current as of March 31, 2020

With everything going on, we wanted to provide you with a little positive news.  Since 2013, Medicare has reduced reimbursement to providers by 2% because of The Budget Control Act of 2011.  This reduction was referred to as sequestration.

Last week the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES Act) of 2020 suspended the Medicare sequester from taking effect between May 1, 2020 and December 31, 2020. This means that Medicare providers will receive an increase in payment rates of approximately 2 percent more than what they otherwise would have received during this time.

StrataPT has updated our Medicare Calculator and removed the sequestration reduction.  Providers can now use the calculator to preview what their updated Medicare reimbursement will be between May 1, 2020 and December 31, 2020.
