A big batch of polish was added this week on the upcoming Visit Details and Cancel Appointment release, closing gaps in scheduling and check-in. Your front desk team saw some updates to the waitlist. Your clinical team got a cleaner task queue when documents change. And practice management and billing got the biggest share of attention again, with claims, denials, and authorizations continuing to land exactly where they belong instead of circling back for review.
Here's a look at what changed this week.
For Your Front Desk Team
- Thom fixed a waitlist issue where canceling an appointment from the all-facilities calendar view wouldn't waitlist for the appointment's actual facility, so canceling and waitlisting now work correctly no matter which calendar view your team is using.
- Thom fixed a reported issue with the waitlist to ensure that a newly selected patient's name and time save immediately, instead of requiring the entry to be reopened and re-edited.
- David resolved a login issue where extra spacing in a staff member's linked-organization list could silently block sign-in or switching between organizations.
For Your Clinical Team
- David fixed an issue where a completed clinical document being deleted or reopened might leave behind a "fax required" task, sometimes duplicated. Now you see one accurate task per document instead of stragglers.
For Practice Management and Billing
- Elise automated our "Held Claims" alert, so your Admins on your team get notified automatically when claims are stuck instead of waiting on a call from our RCM team.
- Paul reclassified how the StrataEMR routes certain denial codes, continuing the push to get more denials sorted automatically without requiring a manual look.
- Paul improved remittance posting so payments and adjustments match to the correct claim even when a payer's file appends extra characters to the reference number, keeping payment posting moving instead of stalling on a mismatch.
- Paul fixed our "Settle Low AR Balance" automation to prevent a negative or overage balance that was intentionally held for a pending retraction from being impacted.
- Elise corrected a Vermont Medicaid telehealth claim rule so those claims stop automatically attaching a modifier the payer is rejecting outright.
- Tyler improved StrataEMR's diagnosis-code handling so two conflicting codes can no longer be billed together on the same claim in certain cases.
- Tyler more narrowly scoped a Florida Medicaid coverage rule to make sure it applies as expected.
- Tyler added an approved diagnosis code per a payer's requirements, so claims using that code no longer get flagged.
- Paul added a claim-scrubbing rule to catch a conflicting diagnosis-code pair on Humana claims before submission, so those claims don't bounce back for an avoidable reason.

A few things happened this week that you won't notice directly, but that keep the engine running behind your practice's day-to-day work, or that we're laying groundwork on for a future release.
- Thom made a number of improvements to the upcoming Visit Details experience to prepare it for release. This included improvements to scrolling, navigation, making phone numbers clickable to use your device to start a call, the appointment history log, loading states, case balances, and showing the patient's nickname along with their legal name. He also fixed the Cancel Appointment experience so it shows the waitlist preference, matching how it's meant to work when released.
- Elise fixed an issue where pasting certain text, like an email address, into a ticket reply could have unexpected results before that message could be sent.
