Product Update

Smarter Drafts & Signature Updates

Apr 4, 2025

We’re rolling out some great new updates to make your clinical documentation in StrataEMR even smoother, faster, and more compliant. Whether you’re managing a busy team or focusing on your own patients, these changes are designed to make your day-to-day easier and more accurate.

Smarter Draft Assignments = Fewer Errors, Faster Completion

Draft document tasks now follow the therapist scheduled for the appointment’s date of service, not just the treating therapist from the case. The last clinician to edit the note will be assigned the draft task - keeping things accurate and reducing the risk of documentation errors that can lead to denials.

To find your tasks, use the "Tasks" menu item at the top of StrataEMR and select the "Clinical" tab. From here you can see all clinical tasks assigned to you or use the Staff Assigned dropdown.

More Accurate, Compliant Notes = Faster Reimbursement

We’ve stopped carrying over signatures from previous notes to new ones. This ensures that each note reflects the correct, up-to-date signatures - keeping your documentation clean and fully compliant, which means faster, smoother reimbursements.

Safer Note Completion = Fewer Claim Denials

Only the primary/supervising therapist or assisting therapist whose signatures are on the note can complete it. This prevents notes from being submitted under the wrong name, reducing the risk of claim denials due to signature mismatches.

Quick, Easy Signature Selection = Less Time, More Accuracy

Your signature is now at the top of the dropdown list by default, and you can type to search for any clinician by name. This makes it quick and easy to find the right signature—no more hunting or mis-clicks that can slow down your process or lead to errors.
