Product Update

What’s New - January 27, 2026

Jan 28, 2026

While a good portion of the country spent the last few days digging out from under a massive winter storm, the team here has been doing some digital shoveling of our own. We know how frustrating it is when visibility gets low—whether that’s because of a whiteout blizzard or because the top of your sidebar keeps sliding off-screen while you’re scrolling a long initial evaluation.

This week, we’re focused on keeping your workflow weatherproof. Thom has ensured your Mako AI Scribe notes won't slip away if your computer goes to sleep to conserve energy, and Elise cleared the snow off of Louisiana's benchmark data so it’s visible again. Meanwhile David, Antonio, and Paul are making sure the path to your patients and payer rules is salted, sanded, and clear.

New

StrataEMR - Antonio added the ICD-10 code Q87.3 (Congenital malformation syndromes involving early overgrowth) to the case selection library to ensure more accurate diagnostic documentation.

Improved

StrataEMR - Following up on last week’s win, David brought the same date of birth searching flexibility (MM-DD-YYYY or MM/DD/YYYY) to the search bar in the patient menu that he brought to the schedule search.

StrataEMR - Paul updated an existing payer rule for Aetna so that evaluation codes do not apply to the internal modality limit warning.

StrataEMR - Paul updated another internal warning as well, this one in regard to Z codes. Z47.1 may be listed as the primary diagnosis, and the original surgical diagnosis can be listed as a secondary diagnosis if required by the payer. Z codes are allowed when they accurately represent the reason for the encounter.

Early Access - Thom updated the sidebar so that the Mako AI Scribe says stuck to the top of the screen when scrolling, meaning you’ll no longer lose sight of it on longer documents.

Internal - Thom made a few more updates on the automations that will power the delivery of the Practice Analytics Report in the future.

Internal - Alexis requested it, Paul built it! We’ve added a new internal work order status to streamline workflows for cases currently under clearinghouse review.

Fixed

StrataEMR - A few older types of tasks that were viewable on the Dashboard ended up lost on the Tasks page when clicked. Thom has improved the categorization behavior so that all tasks will be visible in the correct place on the Tasks page.

Website - Elise discovered that some benchmark data for the state of Louisiana was missing on stratapt.com. She found it and restored it to the right place. Welcome back, Pelican State.

Early Access - We received feedback that Mako AI Scribe notes would be lost when the Documentation Idle warning showed up or when the user’s computer screen went to sleep. Thom put a stop to both of these. Thank you again to our early access folks!

See you on the next update!
