If you’ve ever watched a road grader at work, its purpose is simple: it doesn't lay down massive new highways; it scrapes away the rough ridges, levels the terrain, and ensures the path ahead is flat and functional. With today’s release, our engineering team took a digital road grader to a few of the invisible bumps and potholes in our workflows. We’re smoothing out frictions, from confusing QR code loops to ambiguous portal language, and leaving behind a wide-open, unobstructed path for your daily operations to cruise.
The front line. Updates and refinements you’ll interact with firsthand within StrataEMR.
Seamless Kiosk Check-In - Thom refined the patient experience for those checking in via the kiosk QR code on their personal devices. Instead of displaying a secondary QR code on the phone screen, the system now seamlessly displays a direct, clickable link to the Patient Portal. This eliminates those awkward "how do I scan my own screen?" moments.

Clearer Portal Language - Thom also updated the phrasing on the Patient Portal login screen, shifting the language to refer explicitly to "the patient" rather than "you" when requesting identifying information. This shift provides important clarity in clinic environments where family members, caregivers, or front-desk staff are actively helping a patient navigate the digital intake flow.
Self-Override Guardrails - Ben implemented a real-time confirmation prompt and warning whenever a policy relationship is set to "Self-Override." This interactive safety rail explains exactly when a self-override is appropriate, giving users an immediate opportunity to double-check their reasoning, confirm their choice, or safely back out to make a correction.
The engine room. Internal improvements you won’t see on your screen, but you’ll certainly feel the impact of.
Mako Ticket Summaries Restored - David resolved an internal issue where Mako had stopped generating thread summaries inside the team's support inbox. With this fix in place, Mako is back to capturing and surfacing the high-level narrative of complex ticket histories, empowering our internal teams to digest context at a single glance and accelerate resolution times.
See you on the next update!
