Product Update

What’s New - March 19th, 2026

Mar 20, 2026

As our clinics grow in complexity, our automation matures alongside them. I like to think of this week’s updates as moving from a polite Midwestern four-way stop, where everyone is attempting to wave everyone else through the intersection, to a perfectly synchronized interchange.

David spent the week acting as the architect of our authorization engine, introducing a more sophisticated hierarchy of rules. This logic refresh ensures that even when multiple payer requirements intersect, the system handles the traffic with total precision. We’re continually moving toward a context-aware intelligence that anticipates exactly what’s needed for compliance before you even ask. Meanwhile, Elise is delivering a new layer of precision for our Speech Therapy partners and our internal RCM teams, ensuring our calculators and queues are as lean and high-performing as possible.

Improved

Website - Elise updated our Medicare Fee Calculator on the website to include common Speech Therapy codes. If you’re an SLP looking for clarity on your reimbursements, we’ve got you covered.

Internal - David has overhauled the way authorizations are triggered and managed within a patient’s policy. The goal is less manual clicking and fewer unintended consequences when multiple rules intersect.

  • When a payer is set up to require an auth, the Authorization Required box will now be automatically set to Yes on the Benefits page, pre-filled with the correct number of visits.
  • If a payer allows you a few visits before an auth is needed, the system will now automatically create a stub authorization for those initial visits. This keeps your billing moving smoothly until you hit that threshold.
  • We’ve stopped the practice of system-generated empty authorizations for payers that require an auth from visit one. Instead, you’ll see a clear warning after saving the policy, reminding you to complete the authorization before you start documenting.

Fixed

StrataEMR - While he was under the hood of the authorization settings, David called out that the date fields weren't acting like... well, date fields. He’s updated them to function as they ought, including a calendar icon for quick click-and-set start and end dates.

Internal - Elise fixed an internal automation that was failing to clear internal work orders after a claim settled. There was an audible "woohoo!" from desks across the country this morning as our team opened a queue that accurately reflected the actual work left to do.

See you on the next update!
