Product Update

What’s New - May 6th, 2026

May 6, 2026

Sometimes, spring cleaning means clearing out the old to make room for the new. But other times, it’s about bringing things back in a refreshed way, or extending a favorite feature to a new area. This week, we’re celebrating some restorations. Not only is the Financial Card back on your patient pages, but we’ve also reimagined how you get help with a brand-new ticket sidebar that matches the feel of your case page layout. We’re reinforcing the foundation and finishing the trim to ensure your digital workspace is as efficient and reliable as the practice you’ve built.

New

tickets

StrataEMR - In addition to some behind-the-scenes changes that greatly improve how our team interacts with support tickets, we’ve rolled out a fresh new sidebar for your support tickets. Now, when clicking “Get Help” from the top menu you can quickly see open and closed tickets with search options for both.

Improved

StrataEMR - Paul extended modifier support for specific Workers' Compensation payers. For CPT codes 97545 and 97546, you can now flag whether the service was Work Conditioning or Work Hardening, ensuring the correct modifier reaches the claim automatically.

Internal - David, building on a sharp catch from Mariah, extended Mako's document classification to include internal inbound faxes. Previously, documents that arrived via fax followed a separate pathway and weren't routed through Mako's classification logic. Now, incoming fax documents surface through the same Mako workflow as standard uploaded documents.

Internal - David deepened Mako's payment reconciliation intelligence. When standard identification doesn't surface a match, Mako can now take the same steps a human would and cross-reference individual CPT codes, service dates, amounts billed, and amounts paid against what's in the ledger — giving our team a sharper safety net for payment matching while remaining just as reliable as ever.

Fixed

StrataEMR - Thom brought back the Financial Card on patient cases. The card was temporarily set aside during a period of performance tuning, and now that those underlying improvements are in place, it's been fully restored. Your patient financial snapshot is back where you expect it.

StrataEMR - Elise resolved an issue where draft documentation tasks got stuck when the associated appointment date was changed via drag and drop instead of the pencil icon. Tasks now update themselves to accurately reflect the current schedule when edited this way.

StrataEMR - Thom added a validation check to ensure all new staff profiles have proper internal identification assigned, allowing staff the ability access their schedule correctly.

StrataEMR - Thom updated the Patients list to be "case-insensitive." Whether a name starts with a capital letter or not, the alphabetical search at the bottom of the patient list will now catch every patient, every time.
